The Cross of Nails Community includes schools, communities, parishes and other organisations who have shown a commitment to the values of peace, hope and reconciliation.

During the service we will be presented with our own Cross of Nails by a representative from Coventry Cathedral.

The service will take place in St Andrew’s, Broadhembury on

There But Not There – Remembered

Remembered – a new charity has been launched –

  • Remembered is a charity launched with 3 aims:
  • To Commemorate the Fallen through highlighting the sacrifices made. The 2018 Armistice Project, There But Not There, will be the Centenary Commemoration for the end of the First World War.
  • To Educate all generations, particularly today’s younger generation, born nearly 100 years after the outbreak of WW1, to understand what led to the deaths of 888,246 British and Commonwealth men.
  • To help Heal those suffering from the hidden wounds of post-traumatic stress disorder and other lasting legacies of combat, by raising funds for our beneficiary charities

  • There But Not There is the inaugural project from the charity ‘Remembered’, marking 100 years since the end of the First World War through art installations around the UK.
  • A range of model ‘Tommies’ are being produced and sold by the charity – all profits made from these models, which are built by veterans from Royal British Legion Industries, will go to a group of mental health and armed forces charities, all of which are supporting the campaign throughout the year.
  • Seated silhouettes will sit wherever there is a roll of honour, taking names off memorial walls and putting them back into communities’ psyche.
