St Andrew’s, Broadhembury
Broadhembury Tower has six bells with a tenor just over 20 cwt. Access is via a spiral stone stairway. We are affiliated to both the Guild of Devonshire Ringers (GDR), and the Devon Association of Ringers (DAR). We are friendly ringers that ring Devon Call Changes on a heavy, quirky, and anticlockwise set of bells. Practices are held on Thursday mornings (10:00 to 12:00) most weeks – please contact us to check. We ring for Sunday services after 10:00 am, weddings, funerals, and other special events.
Tower Captain: Rob Phillips
St Nicholas, Dunkeswell
Dunkeswell Tower has 6 bells with a 6 cwt tenor. Access to the ringing chamber is by ladder. Band practices are every Thursday at 6:30 pm until 8.00 pm. From call changes, we are now moving into Method ringing and the tower is affiliated to The Guild of Devonshire Ringers. Mostly the band of ringers are local to Dunkeswell and are closely involved in the community as a whole.
