Plymtree to join Dunkeswell Mission Community

Exciting news!

We are very pleased to welcome the parish of St John’s, Plymtree to the Dunkeswell Mission Community!

Plymtree have confirmed that they would like to join the Mission Community, and it has been agreed by all the PCC’s in the Mission Community to welcome Plymtree to join the Mission Community.

This vote now allows all the parishes to now work together, whilst the legal formalities will follow.

We are also now looking for a House for Duty priest to  join us and pray that we will be blessed during this appointment process.

The first joint event of the parishes will be a joint service on Sunday May 29th, to be held at St Nicholas Church, Dunkeswell at 11.00am and will be led by Revd Rik Peckham.

All are welcome to join us at this very special service.

Christian Aid Walk

Saturday 14 May 2016

Join other Christian Aid supporters, climate activists and compassionate friends in the Devon area walking to end extreme poverty.

They will be meeting at Lime Kiln car park, Granary Lane in Budleigh Salteron to begin the walk around Budleigh Salterton.

Local Christian Aid supporters will have a table at the car park from 10.15 am with literature for informing supporters old and new, and there will be time for some chatting and encouraging one another. The walk will begin at 11am.

Walking from the car park north along the west bank of the river Otter towards Otterton, there will be a break for a picnic at Brandy Head (bring your own lunch) and prayer with Budleigh Methodist Rev Jonathan Froggatt.

They will then continue and cross the Otter at the second bridge (near East Budleigh/Otterton) and return south towards the sea on the Otter’s east bank.

They will return at around 2pm, and will be greeted with a cream tea at Budleigh Salterton Methodist Temple, Fore Street, Budleigh Salterton.

Get involved

To register for the walk or to find out more, call the Christian Aid Southampton office on 02380 706969 or email southampton@christian-aid.org
