St Mary’s Church, Upottery;

Farewell to Rik and Elaine

On Sunday 30th July 2017 we said farewell to Rev Rik and Elaine on Rik’s retirement.

St Mary’s Church, Upottery was filled with those wishing to thank Rik for all his work over the last 5 years and to bid him and Elaine goodbye and best wishes for his retirement.

The service was followed by a lunch at the Manor Rooms where Rik was presented with a cheque from the parishes for £1835.50 which Rik is using for a new bookcase. Elaine was presented with a bouquet of flowers.

Thank you Rik and Elaine – we will miss you!

Rev Rik Peckham’s Leaving Service

Reverend Rik Peckham will sadly be retiring as Rector of the churches in the Dunkeswell Mission Community.

A leaving service will be held for him on Sunday 30th July 2017 at 11.00am at St Mary’s Church, Upottery.

The service will be followed by a lunch in The Manor Rooms at Upottery.

Everyone is welcome to join with us in celebrating Rik’s ministry and thanking him for all that he has done for us, and wishing him and Elaine well for the future.

8.30am onwards  – Meet at St Mary’s, Upottery

9.30am   – Leave Upottery

11.00am   – Arrive St Mary’s, Luppitt

11.30am   – Leave Luppitt

12.30pm  – Arrive St Nicholas, Dunkeswell

1.15pm  – Leave Dunkeswell

2.15pm   – Arrive St James, Sheldon

2.45pn   – Leave Sheldon

4.30pm   – Arrive St Andrew’s, Broadhembury

Refreshments: Drinks will be available at the churches along the way and some refreshments. Please bring your own picnic lunch and water.

Safety: Walkers are responsible for their own safety at all times. Please be careful when walking on lanes and particularly crossing busy roads.

You can walk the whole route or just choose to walk one section. We will also be glad to see people walking towards us to welcome the walkers.

People of all ages are welcome to join the walk. Under-18’s should have parental approval and suitable supervision on the walk.
